Westbury, NY - Nassau County Executive Laura Curran announced today  a new initiative to further increase vaccinations in Nassau County.  The new program will offer onsite vaccination events to businesses, administered by the County’s Department of Health.  The program is open to all sized businesses, restaurants, shops, etc. and will offer free in-house vaccinations by appointment to all eligible employees and family members.

“Nassau County continues to lead the way in vaccinations in New York State and the Nation – but we committed to keep up the pace and offer new initiatives to get shots into arms.  This new onsite vaccination program will bring the vaccine directly to places of employment – in hopes to further increase our vaccination rates and protect our residents, and the progress we have made, from COVID-19,” said Nassau County Executive Laura Curran.

Nassau County’s vaccination rate continues to lead the State with nearly 70% of the population, and more than 82% of adults, with one or more shot. To get the remaining residents vaccinated, the County will be targeting businesses and trying to combat hesitancy by bringing the vaccine directly to the people who need it.  The program is open to businesses of all sizes and industries.  Employees must be eligible (18+) and the events will be open to employee’s family members as well.  Appointments can be made by calling 516-227-9570.

Nassau County has become a national model for COVID-19 vaccination, early on kicking off the “We Can Do It, Nassau” campaign to build public confidence in COVID-19 vaccines. The County ran four successful vaccine distribution centers at Nassau Coliseum, Nassau Community College, LIU Post and the “Yes We Can” Community Center. The County’s Department of Health has vaccinated nearly 85,000 people through these pods and other initiatives.
