Legislator Mazi Melesa Pilip, the NCPD Community Affairs Dept., the Nassau County Office of Crime Victim Advocate, the Nassau County Office for the Aging and the FCA are hosting two free Scam Awareness & Prevention presentations to help residents recognize scams, learn how to report one and how to recover if they become a scam victim. The program also includes important information on topics such as:
- What is Financial Abuse and Exploitation
- Who is targeted and why
- How financial abuse and exploitation occur
- Scams to be aware of
- Possible signs of financial abuse
- Ways to protect yourself
- What to do if you have been a victim
