[ARCHIVED] Deputy Presiding Officer Nicolello & Senator Martins To Host Free Car Seat Safety Inspections

Carseat inpection

Nassau County Deputy Presiding Officer Richard Nicolello and New York State Senator Jack Martins are urging all parents and caregivers to have their children’s car seats inspected on Wednesday, May 4th at Clinton G. Martin Park in New Hyde Park. A Nassau County Traffic Safety Coordinator will inspect car seats and provide free hands-on advice from 9:30am to 12:00pm. Parents are encouraged to call (516) 571-6209 to make an appointment.

Legislator Nicolello stated, “We must do all we can to protect our children when on the road. The proper installation of a child’s car seat is critical to ensuring safety in a vehicle. Take this opportunity to let a professional make sure your child seat is safely installed in your vehicle.”

Senator Martins said, “Nothing is more important to a parent than their children’s safety. Car seats are vital safety tools, but they must be properly installed to offer the maximum protection to children in an
accident. This program gives parents the opportunity to have their child’s car seat inspected and learn tips from trained safety inspectors about steps they can take to protect their children.”
