LEGISLATOR NICOLELLO HONORS

TROOP 544’s NEW EAGLE SCOUTS

Presiding Officer Richard J. Nicolello was on hand to honor Christopher Capodanno and Kyle Cruz of Boy Scout Troop 544 as they were recently recognized at an Eagle Court of Honor ceremony in honor of achieving the rank of Eagle Scout. Christopher and Kyle’s achievements are the culmination of years of commitment, effort and preparation.

Christopher’s Eagle Scout project entailed the creation of a Noah’s Ark Mural at Notre Dame School. Chris worked with the school’s principal, Ms. Durkin on a design and the Scouts in his Troop painted the mural on the school’s playground wall. Chris also built and installed shelves to house bins of toys and books in one of the school’s classrooms.

Kyle’s Eagle Scout project involved the creation of art and activity kits that would be distributed to the children at Cohen Children’s Medical Center. Kyle and the Scouts of Troop 544 assembled and presented Cohen Children’s Medical Center with over 125 kits containing crayons, markers, coloring books, playing cards, Play-Doh, and donated comic books from Grasshopper Comics.
