PRESIDING OFFICER NICOLELLO AND

ADELPHI UNIVERSITY HONOR ED QUINLAN

Presiding Officer Richard J. Nicolello was on hand as New Hyde Park resident Ed Quinlan was honored and inducted into the 2018 Adelphi University Athletic Hall of Fame at the 47th Annual Adelphi University Hall of Fame Dinner and Ceremony.

In addition to being an avid athlete, Ed has served the NHP-GCP community for decades. He was a physical education teacher in the New Hyde Park – Garden City Park School District, a track team coach, and a member of the Board of Education.

Presiding Officer Nicolello stated that, “I first got to know Ed when he became a teacher at Hillside Grade School when I was in 6th Grade. Years later, I served as Counsel to the Board of Education when Ed was a Trustee. He brings incredible energy to everything he does and is a dedicated public servant who always has the interests of the community at heart.”

The Adelphi University Athletic Hall of Fame was founded in 1961 and honors those former Adelphi athletes, coaches, and friends who distinguished themselves during their time at the University or thereafter. Ed Quinlan was a member of Adelphi’s 1971 Cross Country and Track & Field Teams.
