REPUBLICAN MAJORITY DEMANDS EXTENSION OF DEADLINE TO FILE PROPERTY TAX GRIEVANCES

Nassau County Presiding Officer Richard J. Nicolello and members of the Legislature introduced a resolution directing members of the Assessment Review Commission to extend the deadline to file an application for a correction of assessment.

“We have seen an overwhelming outpouring of frustration, confusion, and anger from residents over the changes to assessment,” said Presiding Officer Nicolello. “We believe that fairness dictates extending the deadline, so homeowners can consider all options moving forward.”

Residents can file a grievance on their own. If you have any questions about the grievance process please visit the Assessment Review Commission website at https://www.nassaucountyny.gov/1510/Assessment-Review-Commission, or contact Presiding Officer Nicolello’s office at (516) 571-6209.
