WHAT: Nassau County Legislator Siela A. Bynoe (D - Westbury) in conjunction with Nassau County Department of Assessment, announces an upcoming tax exemptions workshop in her district. Department of Assessment staff will assist residents with filing for veterans, senior citizen, Cold War veteran, volunteer firefighter and ambulance worker, limited income disability and/or home improvement exemptions. Enhanced STAR applications will also be processed for homeowners already enrolled in the STAR program prior to Jan. 2, 2015.
Homeowners who will be filing for a property tax exemption are encouraged to make copies of their 2018 Federal and State Income Tax Forms, Driver’s License, and any other documentation that is required prior to the workshop. Documentation requirements can be viewed on the Department of Assessment website at www.mynassauproperty.com
