[ARCHIVED] Curran Announces County COVID-19 Booster Campaign Free Pop-up events

Nassau, NY – Nassau County Executive Laura Curran was joined by Commissioner of Health Dr. Lawrence Eisenstein to roll out the County’s COVID-19 booster campaign which will begin with popup events, starting October 30, for eligible Nassau residents.  The pop-up vaccination events will be run by the Nassau County Department of Health and will offer either Moderna or J&J boosters to residents who fit the criteria. Nassau County continues to lead the State and the Nation in COVID-19 vaccinations with 95% of adults having one or more shot.

“Nassau County has been a model in COVID-19 vaccinations and, and with more than 95% of adults with at least one shot, we continue to lead the State and Nation. While we have made historic progress, we continue to make sure our eligible residents have access to booster shots so we can keep them protected from COVID-19 and keep up our positive momentum,” said Nassau County Executive Laura Curran.

“Nassau County is committed to promoting and protecting the health of our residents,” said Health Commissioner Dr. Lawrence Eisenstein.  “COVID-19 vaccines are effective in reducing the risk of severe illness and hospitalization and will pave the way out of this pandemic.  Vaccination remains the best way to protect yourself, reduce the spread of the virus, and help prevent new variants from emerging. I urge all who are eligible for third or booster doses to get vaccinated as soon as possible.”
