[ARCHIVED] PRESIDING OFFICER NICOLELLO DELIVERS VALENTINES FOR VETERANS

PRESIDING OFFICER NICOLELLO DELIVERS VALENTINES FOR VETERANS

Nassau County Legislature Presiding Officer Richard Nicolello (2nd from right) recently had the pleasure of dropping off hundreds of Valentine’s Day cards to veterans at the American Legion Hall in Williston Park. The annual Valentines for Veterans program sponsored by the Nassau County Legislature invites elementary school students from elementary schools throughout Nassau County to create hand drawn Valentine’s Day cards that are then gathered and delivered to thousands of area veterans by the legislators.

“This is a wonderful way for our youngsters to show their appreciation to our veterans and recognize them for serving our country,” Nicolello said.  “To see the smiles, it brought to the faces of those who received these special greetings was heart-warming, so I know I speak for all the veterans by extending a big thank you to all those who participated this year.”
