On March 21st, the Nassau County Legislature held its annual Women’s History Month celebration and honored two Nassau County residents who have been trailblazers in their fields, and dedicated community members.

The first honoree was Patricia Guerrieri-Razzano of Bethpage. Among Patricia’s many accomplishments included her efforts raising more than $14,000 for essential workers during the pandemic with her Bethpage Community and Beyond Fundraiser. The fundraiser raised money and delivered food and PPE to front line workers, including workers at hospitals, police departments, fire departments, funeral homes, sanitation departments, pharmacies, grocery stores and animal shelters.

The second honoree was New York City Police Commissioner Keechant Sewell of North Valley Stream. Commissioner Sewell was formerly the Chief of Detectives of the Nassau County Police Department and is the first African American Women to hold the NYPD Commissioner Title. She spent 24 years with the Nassau County Police Department, including time commanding the Major Case Bureau, the Seventh Precinct, 2 detective squads, and the Professional Standards Bureau.

Congratulations to both honorees!
