Nassau County, NY – Due to heavy rainfall, the Nassau County Department of Health is issuing an advisory against bathing at 18 beaches, effective today, July 29, 2026. This advisory is issued as a precautionary measure for beaches known to be impacted by stormwater runoff caused by heavy rainfall. Stormwater runoff can impact bathing water quality by elevating bacteria levels, which may cause exceedances of the New York State standard for bathing water quality.

Crescent Beach – Glen Cove
Lattingtown Beach – Lattingtown
Laurel Hollow Beach – Laurel Hollow
Morgan Memorial Park Beach – Glen Cove
North Hempstead Beach Park – Port Washington
Piping Rock Beach Club – Locust Valley
Pryibil Beach – Glen Cove
Ransom Beach – Bayville
Theodore Roosevelt Beach – Oyster Bay
Sea Cliff Village Beach – Sea Cliff
Sea Cliff Yacht Club Beach – Sea Cliff
Soundside Beach – Bayville
Stehli Beach – Bayville

*This advisory will be lifted at 8 a.m., on Thursday July 30, unless there is additional heavy rainfall or water samples reveal elevated bacterial levels.
In addition, The Nassau County Department of Health has closed Hewlett Point Beach in East Rockaway due to elevated bacterial levels, effective today, July 29, 2026. Biltmore Beach Club in Massapequa remains closed to bathing due to elevated bacterial levels. These beaches will remain closed until testing indicates that samples are within acceptable limits.
