Continuing Legal Education

Professional Development

The County Attorney's Office encourages the professional development of all attorneys. We are proud of the fact that the Nassau County Attorney's Office is a fully certified Continuing Legal Education (CLE) provider that offers an outstanding in-house CLE program, providing more than 12 CLE credits per year through courses specifically geared toward municipal practice and other important areas of law.

Presenters

Lecturers and presenters have included judges and justices from the Court of Appeals, Appellate Division, and other courts, as well as our own attorneys, leading private practitioners, and public sector attorneys who share their particular expertise in substantive areas.

Program Participants

We share our programs with attorneys working for municipalities within Nassau and other members of the legal community. Access an outline from a recent CLE program (PDF) provided by our office in which Attorney Steven Leventhal, Counsel to the Nassau County Board of Ethics, addressed the ethical obligations of municipal attorneys and officials.

State & County Bar Associations

Our attorneys are active participants and leaders in the New York State Bar Association and the Nassau County Bar Association, where they lecture frequently in their areas of expertise and contribute articles to the bar association publications.

Community Contributions

Our attorneys also actively contribute to their communities within the County of Nassau, serving as volunteer firefighters and chairing not-for-profit boards. They are members of community service organizations and participate in drives and events that promote the health and welfare of Nassau County residents.
