[ARCHIVED] 10 Beaches Closed to Bathing

Mineola, NY - Due to heavy rainfall, the Nassau County Department of Health has closed the following 10 beaches to bathing as a precautionary measure, effective today, July 3, 2014. Storm water runoff can have a negative impact by elevating bacterial levels and affecting bathing water quality.

10 North Shore Beaches within Nassau County:

Centre Island Sound
Creek Club
Lattingtown Beach
Laurel Hollow Beach
Piping Rock Beach Club
Pryibil Beach
Ransom Beach
Theodore Roosevelt Beach
Soundside Beach
Stehli Beach

In addition Biltmore Beach Club in Massapequa remains closed due to elevated levels of bacteria.
