Drucker - Ruling Against LGBTQ+ Rights ‘Regressive’ and ‘Destructive’

(MINEOLA, N.Y.) – The following is a statement from Nassau County Legislator Arnold W. Drucker (D – Plainview)

“Through rulings that have curtailed reproductive freedom, ended affirmative action in college admissions, and undercut the rights of the LGBTQ+ community to live freely without discrimination, this Supreme Court has proven itself to be a regressive and destructive force that is hell-bent on using its power to turn back the hands of time in our nation,” Nassau County Legislator Arnold W. Drucker (D – Plainview) said.

“Today’s ruling in 303 Creative LLC Et Al. v. Elenis Et Al. is an outrage that will further embolden bigots in our society to act with impunity not just against the LGBTQ+ community, but any marginalized group in our society” Legislator Drucker added. “In recent days, the Supreme Court has put its thumb on the scale against equality, and their decisions must be a catalyst for a renewed commitment to the fight for a more perfect union - one in which ‘liberty and justice for all’ is not just an ideal, but a reality.”
