Distracted Driver Education Program

Motorists charged with prohibited use of a cell phone or electronic device must appear in court.

• At the court appearance, the opportunity to enter the "DISTRACTED DRIVER EDUCATION PROGRAM" may be offered.
• If offered and agreed to, the motorist is required to sign this agreement (Distracted Driver Education Program – Plea Agreement (PDF)) and acknowledge it before a Judicial Hearing Officer.
• Some motorists may not be offered the opportunity to enter the program and will have to either plead guilty to the original charge or have the matter be set down for trial
• Visit the site where one may purchase equipment needed for the program AFTER they have accepted the program in court and have paid the fine.
