[ARCHIVED] Due to a Sewage Spill Nassau County Department of Health Closes Four Beaches

Mineola, NY - Due to a blockage in a sewer main, untreated sewage overflowed into a storm drain and discharged into Hempstead Harbor. As a result, the Nassau County Department of Health has closed the following four beaches as a precaution:

North Hempstead Beach Park, Port Washington

Tappen Beach, Glenwood Landing

Morgan Beach, Glen Cove

Sea Cliff Village Beach, Sea Cliff

These beaches will remain closed until the Department of Health completes and reviews all beach water quality sampling.
