Solages, Amistad Long Island Black Bar Association, Assemblywoman Solages Host Free Legal Forum

Solages - Amistad Clinic

(ELMONT, N.Y.) - In observance of the Martin Luther King, Jr. Day of Service in America, Nassau County Legislator Carrié Solages (D – Valley Stream) partnered with the Amistad Long Island Black Bar Association and New York State Assemblywoman Michaelle Solages to host a free legal clinic forum at the Elmont Memorial Public Library on Saturday, Jan. 13.

Scheduled topics included immigration law, family law, estate planning, business law and criminal law. Participants were invited to bring their own questions for the Amistad lawyers, which were addressed during an interactive question-and-answer session.

“While I know Dr. King would be proud of the progress that has been made, there is still much he would want to change in today’s society – and the greatest way we can honor Dr. King legacy is to be of service in our community and act boldly in the pursuit of equality for all,” Legislator Solages said. “I thank the Amistad Long Island Black Bar Association and Assemblywoman Solages for organizing this free legal clinic and applaud everyone who honored Dr. King on this day by renewing their commitment to service and justice.”
