Following Advocacy with NYS DOT, Legislator Solages Applauds Repairs to North Valley Stream Parkway

(NORTH VALLEY STREAM, N.Y.) - Following extensive advocacy by his office, Nassau County Legislator Carrié Solages (D - Lawrence) is pleased to report that New York State has completed long-awaited repairs to the entrance and exit ramps at Southern State Parkway exit 14 (Fletcher Avenue).

Legislator Solages and North Valley Stream residents have been urging New York State Department of Transportation officials to prioritize repairs at exit 14, where residents complained of poorly maintained entrance and exit ramps and the unsightly accumulation of garbage and debris.

These recent repairs come after more than two years of letters and phone calls by Legislator Solages’ office to NYS DOT officials. Additional repairs and upgrades for other Southern State Parkway ramps in the area are expected soon, Legislator Solages said.

“For far too long, the unacceptable condition of these Southern State Parkway entrance and exit ramps have exposed North Valley Stream residents to increased hazards on the road,” Legislator Solages said. “I am glad that, by working alongside concerned citizens and Assembly Member Michaelle Solages’ office, we secured these important improvements and are continuing to prioritize the needs of North Valley Stream residents.”
