(LAWRENCE, N.Y.) - Nassau County Legislator Carrié Solages (D - Lawrence) joined with a team of community partners at the Five Towns Community Center on Saturday, Nov. 13 to support ICNA Relief’s Winter Giveaway.
During the event, guests received supplies of food as well as winter items such as blankets, clothing, toiletries, and supplies of hand sanitizer and masks. There were also snacks and treats for youngsters in attendance and health screenings for all.
Legislator Solages was a special guest at the ICNA Relief event, which is being staged with support from his office and a team of community partners. Sponsors include the Association of Physicians of Pakistani Descent of North America (APPNA), Affinity Health Plan, Gammy’s Pantry, Hillside Islamic Center, Masjid Hamza of Valley Stream, Muslim Children of North America (MCNA), United for Service and the Five Towns Community Center.
“With Thanksgiving right on the horizon, it was especially gratifying to see our community’s giving spirit on full display,” Legislator Solages said. “It is always such a rewarding experience to work alongside the leaders of ICNA Relief, Gammy’s Pantry, the Five Towns Community Center and this wonderful team of volunteers and local organizations to give back to the communities we are all proud to serve.”
