On April 10th, 2019, County Executive Laura Curran and the Nassau County Office of Minority Affairs are partnering with the Port Authority of NY & NJ on an M/W/D/SBE Certification workshop. This free workshop will guide businesses through the process of certifying under the following Port Authority programs:
- Minority and Women-Owned Business Enterprise (MWBE)
- Disadvantaged Business Enterprise (DBE)
- Small Business Enterprise (SBE)
Once certified, a business is eligible to participate in the Port Authority’s supplier diversity program, which offers unique opportunities for qualified firms such as set-aside contracts and vendor price preferences on commodity and operations services. Subcontracting opportunities are also available.
With the $13 billion JFK Redevelopment Project underway and a 30% goal for MWBE participation, Nassau County encourages eligible firms to apply!
