The Tax Records department of the Treasurer’s Office maintains all records of and collects payments on delinquent Nassau County Property Taxes. For the Towns of Hempstead, North Hempstead and Oyster Bay, this includes both the full General Taxes and School Taxes. The City of Glen cove handles their own School Tax delinquencies, so only delinquent General taxes from Glen Cove are paid to the County Treasurer. General and School delinquent taxes are also collected for the City of Long Beach, however only the County portion of the General Tax. Delinquent Tax collection begins for unpaid School Taxes as of June 1st, and for General Taxes as of September 1st each year.
Beginning on or around Monday June 23rd, 2025 Delinquent School Taxes will be payable online with a credit card (Visa, Mastercard and American Express only) or electronic check / ACH. Tax liens are not payable online and must be paid with a bank cashier's check or cash. Delinquent tax payments can also be made by check via mail or by visiting our office at 1 West Street in Mineola. Checks are to be made out to the Nassau County Treasurer. We also accept cash payments in the office, please do not mail cash.
