Entertainment Tax

The Nassau County Treasurer is in charge of the administration and collection of the entertainment surcharge tax imposed by Local Law 28-2000, effective July 31, 2000. Chapter 179 of the Laws of New York 2000 specifically authorizes the County to impose an entertainment surcharge tax of $1.50 per ticket on events at facilities having a permanent seating capacity in excess of 2,500 persons.
