Leisure Pass Information

The Nassau County Leisure Pass identifies its holder as a Nassau County resident and is required for entry into many recreational facilities. The pass also provides residents with discounts to pools, skating rinks, golf courses, tennis courts, beaches, marinas and cabanas operated by the Nassau County Department of Parks, Recreation and Museums. In general, a Leisure Pass is required of residents 13 years of age and older. Youngsters who utilize county-operated golf courses, regardless of age, must have a Leisure Pass.

Specially marked Leisure Passes are offered to senior citizens and persons who have chronic physical or mental disabilities (medical documentation is required before a Leisure Pass for the disabled can be issued). A Senior Citizen Leisure Pass is valid for as long as county residency is maintained; however, residency must be validated every three years. Leisure Passes for the disabled must be revalidated every three years. For all others, the pass remains valid for three years from effective date.

The Leisure Pass fee is $25.

NOTE: A listing of Leisure Pass application centers is available below. Please call ahead to ensure availability of passes and staff, as some parks may not have full-time staffing during non-peak seasons.

To obtain a Leisure Pass, proof of Nassau County residency is required, as follows:

1.  A valid and current New York State driver's license.
2.  A recent property tax bill.
3.  A recent utility bill.
4.  A current school ID card (children).
5.  A recent cancelled rent check (with address imprinted).
6.  A deed.

7.  Library card (children)

8.  Voter registration card

NOTE: Two types of ID are required if item numbers two through six are submitted.

Disabled Leisure Pass

A Disabled Leisure Pass is available to Nassau County residents with chronic physical and/or mental disabilities. Persons applying for the Disabled Leisure Pass must fill out the certification form and have the form signed and stamped by a medical doctor or by the Nassau County Department of Health, with a description of their disability. Proof of residency is required as noted in the rules above for a regular Leisure Pass.

Holders of this pass are eligible for the reduced fare program of the Nassau County Bus System (L.I. Bus) and for discounted fees within the Nassau County Parks system. The Disabled Leisure Pass is $25 and is valid for three years.
