Effective Immediately

Due to the Coronavirus (COVID-19) Emergency and State and Federal bans on large meetings or gatherings, and pursuant to Governor Cuomo’s Executive Order 220.1 issued on March 12, 2020 suspending the Open Meetings Law, the Nassau County Planning Commission (NCPC) is now operating remotely. The already scheduled NCPC Meetings will be held electronically until further notice through the ZOOM webinar application format. Potential applicants are encouraged to submit applications for Minor Subdivisions, Major Subdivisions, and Zoning Referrals electronically. Staff is continuing to process all pending and new applications/referrals for consideration at an upcoming meeting of the Planning Commission. The public will have the opportunity to send in their comments for the public comment portion of the meeting via email. The NCPC will review and consider public comments prior to making a final decision. A recording of the meeting will be posted on the Nassau County Planning Department website within twenty-four hours of the meeting. Below you will find additional information on how to submit an application or request information on a pending application.

Any member of the public who wishes to receive the Nassau County Planning Commission Agenda in advance of a scheduled hearing can now sign up for the Planning Commission Outreach email listserv. Please click below to add your name and email address, and we will be sure to email you a copy of the Agenda prior to (generally within 7 days) each scheduled hearing.

Beginning on July 14, 2022, Nassau County Planning Commission meetings will be held at the
Nassau County Legislative Chamber, 1550 Franklin Avenue, Mineola, NY 11501.
