Domestic Harmony Foundation 12th Annual Luncheon Gala: The Domestic Harmony Foundation’s “I Am Unbeatable,” 12th Annual Luncheon Gala. The Domestic Harmony Foundation (DHF) is a community-based, non-profit organization and is Long Island’s only domestic violence agency that helps South Asian, Middle Eastern and Muslin women and children with their physical and emotional needs, including free Mental Health Counseling. Comptroller Phillips was joined by the Pakistan Consulate General New York, Bina Sabapathy, IALI India Association of Long Island, Isma Habib Chaudhry, Uzma Syed, Habib Bank Unlimited and Pinky Jaggi, Long Island Ladies Circle of New York.

Autism Awareness Month Dome Lighting: Lighting it up blue for Autism Awareness Month. The dome of the Theodore Roosevelt Executive & Legislative Building in Mineola was illuminated in blue in honor of Autism Speaks “Light it up Blue” campaign. Nassau County Comptroller Elaine Phillips was joined by Nassau County Executive Bruce Blakeman, County Legislator Steve Rhoads and County Legislator John Giuffre, Autism Speaks, Stella Spanakos of The Nicholas Center & Spectrum Designs Foundation to promote Autism Awareness, inclusion and support to help individuals with autism reach their full potential.

South Asian Advisory Board Holi Celebration: Nassau County Comptroller Elaine Phillips attended the South Asian Advisory Board’s meaningful Holi Celebration in March. Holi is a celebration of color, marking the arrival of spring, a time for forgiveness and the importance of good over evil. Comptroller Phillips was joined by Town of Oyster Bay Supervisor Joseph Saladino, Town of North Hempstead Supervisor Jennifer DeSena, Nassau County Legislator Rose Marie Walker, Nassau County Legislator Steve Rhoads and community leaders and members.
