(VALLEY STREAM, N.Y.) – Nassau County Legislator Cynthia Nuñez (D – Valley Stream) recently visited the Brooklyn Avenue School’s Black History Month live wax museum presentation. The event provided students with a forum for bringing history to life by portraying an important figure in Black history and sharing their stories, achievements, and impact.
“As a former Valley Stream 24 Board of Education Trustee, it was wonderful to see how the many talents of these students brought history to life. Their confidence, preparation, and passion were truly inspiring and shined through during their presentations,” Legislator Nuñez said. “Thank you to the students, teachers, and families who made this meaningful event possible – I am so proud of all our scholars throughout District 14, and I know our young leaders in Valley Stream, Lynbrook, and Elmont have bright futures within their reach.”
