(FREEPORT, N.Y.) – Nassau County Legislature Alternate Deputy Minority Leader Debra Mulé (D – Freeport) and Legislator Cynthia Nuñez (D – Valley Stream) joined Janna Rodriguez and supporters at the Innovative Day Care Corp on Monday, May 11 for the “Day Without Child Care - From Playroom to Podium” rally for childcare justice.
“Throughout my career as a social worker, I have witnessed the transformational importance of childcare resources. As lawmakers and public servants, we have a duty to ensure families can access reliable services without cost as an obstacle,” Alternate Deputy Minority Leader Mulé said. “I am always proud to stand with Janna to raise awareness of this vital issue and embrace the message that, at its core, childcare is community care.”
“As costs continue to soar in Nassau County and across our nation, we must make every effort to alleviate the financial burdens facing local families,” Legislator Nuñez said. “Ensuring that every family has access to safe, reliable childcare will not only help us achieve that goal, but it will provide children with the support they need to thrive and succeed. I applaud Janna for her unwavering commitment to the cause of childcare justice on Long Island.”
