WHAT: Nassau County Legislators Carrié Solages (D – Valley Stream) and Cynthia Nuñez (D – Valley Stream) are partnering with the Nassau County Police Department’s Fifth Precinct, community leaders, and their colleagues in government to celebrate National Night Out at St. Boniface Church in Elmont on Tuesday, Aug. 4.
For more than four decades, National Night Out events have been held in thousands of communities on the first Tuesday in August to promote “police-community partnerships and neighborhood camaraderie to make our neighborhoods safer, more caring places to live.” National Night Out enhances relationships between law enforcement and communities by bringing them together with residents in a safe, fun, and welcoming atmosphere.
“Not only are National Night Out events great fun for the entire family, these gatherings help strengthen the bonds between our police and the people they serve and protect – and those relationships empower stakeholders at all levels to work toward making our communities safer and more vibrant,” Legislator Solages said. “Please join us for a great evening as National Night Out returns to Elmont on Aug. 4.”
“Authentic bonds between law enforcement professionals and communities are at the heart of every community-powered policing initiative, and National Night Out events build those connections in a fun, welcoming setting that has something for everyone to enjoy,” Legislator Nuñez said. “I look forward to seeing everyone in Elmont for a unifying celebration of what makes Nassau County so unique and special!”
