WHAT: Nassau County Legislator Cynthia Nuñez (D – Valley Stream) is partnering with the Nassau County Police Department’s Office of Community Affairs and the County’s Department of Traffic Safety to provide free Child Car Seat Safety Checks at the Lynbrook Public Library from 9 a.m. – noon on Wednesday, Oct. 21.
Certified technicians will apply their expertise toward ensuring that car seats are properly installed and providing optimal protection. Residents with children who use car seats or booster seats are encouraged to have their car seats professionally checked. Appointments are required.
“As a parent myself, I have firsthand knowledge of how car seats kept our children safe on the road – and memories of the occasional challenge of ensuring they were installed correctly to keep our most precious passengers safe and comfortable,” Legislator Nuñez said. “I encourage you to make an appointment, have your car seats inspected by Nassau PD professionals, and give yourself and your family the peace of mind that you deserve.”
