[ARCHIVED] Legislative District 14 Update

Dear Resident,
I’m very happy to report that the fiscal condition of Nassau County has continued to improve.  In fact, Nassau County placed among the top-ranked fiscally sound counties throughout New York State, according to a recent financial report issued by the New York State Comptroller.
The annual report uses the Fiscal Stress Monitoring System to examine financial information provided by local governments and school districts and offers an objective assessment of their ability to maintain budgetary solvency.
In the latest report, Nassau County received a fiscal stress score of only 14.6 and an environmental stress score of 0 based on a scale of 0-100.   While the environmental score has remained steady, there is a vast improvement over the past two fiscal stress scores that came in at 54.6 and 45.0 respectively and clearly shows that Nassau County’s fiscal and environmental health is in very good shape.
With County Executive Blakeman’s no tax increase spending plan for 2023, which is currently under review by the Legislature, I am optimistic that by continuing to exercise fiscal responsibility this positive trend will carry into next year and beyond.
