SPARCS Cannabis Dashboard

SPARCS Cannabis Dashboard

Overview

New York State legalized recreational use of marijuana and cannabis products in 2021. According to The Center for Disease Control, health effects associated with marijuana include marijuana use disorder, brain health, heart health, lung health, mental health and unintentional poisoning. These harmful effects can be more severe in babies, children, teenagers and during pregnancy. For more information, please view the CDC marijuana fact sheet here. The Nassau County Department of Health Office of Epidemiology, Biostatistics and Planning (NCDOH OEBP) has created an interactive dashboard which visualizes trends in cannabis related visits to New York State hospital systems. This dashboard will be updated annually.
