Technical Notes
Technical Notes This dashboard was created using the National Highway Traffic and Safety Administration (NHTSA) Fatality Analysis Reporting System (FARS), a nationwide repository of all fatal motor vehicle collisions occurring in the United States from 1975-2022. More information for the FARS could be found at Fatality Analysis Reporting System | NHTSA.
Additionally, data from NYS Vital Statistics was used to determine the number of deaths and NYS Statewide Planning and Research Cooperative System (SPARCS) was utilized for hospitalizations and ER visits.
