Bailey Arboretum

One of the more unique sites in the parks system, this former estate of the Bailey family offers 42 acres of exotic trees, rare shrubs and beautiful flower beds, in line with the Baileys' original goal for the property of creating "a living, growing museum." Many of the species are native to other parts of the U.S. and other countries where the climatic conditions resemble those of the Northeast. The main house on the property is available for use by garden clubs and conservation organizations and for limited events (nominal fee and reservations required).
