Minority Leader DeRiggi-Whitton, New York State, Present Citizen Preparedness Workshop

EmergencyPreparedness

WHAT – Nassau County Legislature Minority Leader Delia DeRiggi-Whitton (D – Glen Cove) is pleased to announce that the New York State Citizen Preparedness Corps is coming to the Sea Cliff Fire Department on Thursday, July 31 for an Emergency Preparedness Workshop.

Presented by the State’s Citizen Preparedness Corps, the workshops are designed to equip residents with the tools and resources to prepare for any type of natural or man-made disaster, respond accordingly, and recover as quickly as possible to pre-disaster conditions. Each family participating will receive a free Citizen Preparedness Corps Response Starter Kit filled with emergency prep essentials like a radio, flashlight, batteries, freshwater packets, food packs, heavy-duty gloves, tarp, emergency blanket, water container, glow stick and whistle.

“Emergency preparation is such an important way to protect your family for the unexpected and give yourself some peace of mind – and with all of the resources that the Citizens Preparedness Corps provides, it is understandable why these workshops are in such high demand and so well attended,” Minority Leader DeRiggi-Whitton said. “I am proud to once again partner with the State and the Sea Cliff Fire Department to host this workshop, and I encourage you to register today!”
