DeRiggi-Whitton Invites Residents to Attend Free Online Community Assessment Grievance Workshops

WHAT: Nassau County Legislature Minority Leader Delia DeRiggi-Whitton (D – Glen Cove) is partnering with the Nassau County Assessment Review Commission (ARC) to host two free online community assessment grievance workshops to help homeowners challenge the assessed value of their property.

During these workshops, taxpayers who disagree with their assessment will learn how to navigate the online grievance process and dispute their assessment. There will also be an opportunity to submit via chat any questions to the representative from ARC. Questions will be answered after the presentations and/or they will contact you directly.

To ensure easy access on the day of the presentation, participants are encouraged to familiarize themselves with the use of Microsoft Teams prior to the workshop.

“With Nassau’s tax rolls still frozen, it is essential for homeowners to protect their families from over-taxation caused by an inaccurate assessment,” Minority Leader DeRiggi-Whitton said. “If you believe your assessment is incorrect, I encourage you to attend one of my office’s workshops, where Assessment Review Commission experts will take you step-by-step through the grievance process and make it easy to exercise your rights without hiring an outside service.”

For additional information, please contact Minority Leader DeRiggi-Whitton’s office at 516-571-6211 or dderiggiwhitton@nassaucountyny.gov.
