(PORT WASHINGTON, N.Y.) - Nassau County Legislature Minority Leader Delia DeRiggi-Whitton (D – Glen Cove) partnered with the Nassau County Department of Assessment to bring the Homeowner Exemption Liaison Program (HELP) to the Port Washington Library on Wednesday, Oct. 22.
During HELP events, Department of Assessment staff provide homeowners with individual assistance with completing and filing applications for veteran, senior citizen, Cold War veteran, volunteer firefighter and ambulance worker, and limited-income disability exemptions.
Prior to Wednesday’s workshop, Minority Leader DeRiggi-Whitton previously hosted a HELP workshop at Sea Cliff Village Hall on Wednesday, Sept. 24.
“It is always wonderful to assist families in their efforts to reduce their taxes, and the HELP program makes it easy and convenient to apply for every exemption that you deserve and have earned,” Minority Leader DeRiggi-Whitton said. “I’m always thankful for the opportunity to work with John McQuade and his team to bring these services to District 11, and I appreciate the Port Washington Library for once again opening their doors for this important event. If you haven’t yet gone to a HELP workshop, I encourage you to attend one of this year’s final sessions!”
