
(MINEOLA and PORT WASHINGTON, N.Y.) – Nassau County Legislature Minority Leader Delia DeRiggi-Whitton proudly joined her colleagues in a unanimous Monday, March 9 vote to appoint William P. Bodkin to serve as Judge of the District Court of the County of Nassau for the Third Judicial District.
Judge Bodkin, of Port Washington, was serving as the Senior Principal Law Clerk to Supreme Court Appellate Division Second Department Justice Helen Voutsinas and the Village Justice in the incorporated Village of Manorhaven prior to his appointment. Additionally, over a nearly 20-year career in the New York State Court system, Judge Bodkin has served as the Chief Court Attorney in the Nassau County Supreme Court, the principal law clerk to Supreme Court Justices Norman St. George and Steven Jaeger, and a Principal Appellate Court Attorney for the Appellate Division, First Department.
In addition to his professional responsibilities, Judge Bodkin is a proud member of the Nassau County Bar Association, where he serves currently as Counsel to the Nassau Academy of Law, and has been a volunteer Moot Court Judge for the Academy. Judge Bodkin has been a CLE lecturer for the Nassau County Court— 10th Judicial District Committee on Equal Justice, the Academy of Law and the Theodore Roosevelt Inn of Court, an organization that promotes education for judges and attorneys of all levels of experience.
