(GLEN COVE, N.Y.) – Nassau County Legislature Minority Leader Delia DeRiggi-Whitton (D - Glen Cove) proudly partnered with NuHealth and the Charles Evans Center to bring the breast cancer screening van to Glen Cove on Thursday, Oct. 9. At the nearly fully booked event, people received screenings encompassing a breast exam from a nurse, a mammography, and self-examination instructions.
“I can think of no better way of commemorating October as Breast Cancer Awareness Month than by teaming up with the Charles Evans Center and helping women than ever receive potentially life-saving screenings,” Minority Leader DeRiggi-Whitton said. “The team at NUMC made a real difference in Glen Cove, and I am so thankful that we had this opportunity to join forces with them and the leaders of the Charles Evans Center to deliver this vital service!”
