
(UNIONDALE, N.Y.) – Nassau County Legislature Minority Leader Delia DeRiggi-Whitton (D – Glen Cove) was sworn in for her second term as Minority Leader of the Legislature’s Democratic caucus during inaugural ceremonies held at Uniondale’s Cradle of Aviation Museum on Thursday, Jan. 8.
In taking the oath of office, she also embarked upon her eighth term as a Nassau County Legislator. The 11th District is comprised of Glen Cove, Sea Cliff, Port Washington, Glenwood Landing and portions of Glen Head, as well as the Villages of Port Washington North, Roslyn Harbor, Baxter Estates, Manorhaven and Sands Point.
With supporters, friends, and family, including husband, Richard Valicenti and mother, Dr. Millie DeRiggi, looking on, Minority Leader DeRiggi-Whitton was sworn in by her father, former Glen Cove Mayor and Nassau County Judge Donald DeRiggi.
“A new year always gives me a spark of hope, and that fuels my determination to see Nassau County operate in a more equitable and responsible manner,” Minority Leader DeRiggi-Whitton said. “I am thrilled to welcome Legislators Viviana Russell and Cynthia Nuñez to our caucus, and I know our entire team is ready and eager to work collaboratively on behalf of the residents of Nassau County.”
