WHAT - To help young students have a strong start to the 2025-26 school year, Nassau County Legislature Minority Leader Delia DeRiggi-Whitton (D - Glen Cove) is partnering with the Nassau County Police Benevolent Association (PBA) to host a backpack giveaway event outside the Landing Elementary School at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, Aug. 19.
The Nassau County PBA is once again furnishing backpacks and supplies, and the event is being presented with local support and assistance from the Glen Cove PBA.
“Back-to-school season is an exciting time, but it can also be financially challenging for families in Glen Cove and all across Nassau County,” Minority Leader DeRiggi-Whitton said. “I am so thrilled that this partnership between the Nassau PBA and Glen Cove City Schools will once again equip deserving local students everything they need to return to school prepared to excel!”
