(PORT WASHINGTON, N.Y.) – Nassau County Legislature Minority Leader Delia DeRiggi-Whitton (D – Glen Cove) is informing residents of Port Washington of upcoming drainage improvements that are set to begin, weather permitting, on Wednesday, March 25.
On that date, the Nassau County Department of Public Works confirmed to Minority Leader DeRiggi-Whitton’s office that a contractor will be excavating test holes on Beacon Hill Road from Port Washington Blvd. to Longview Road in Port Washington, work which is expected to take approximately two to three days.
Thereafter, on Monday, March 30, drainage work is set to begin along that stretch of roadway. Work is anticipated to take approximately three weeks.
“With springtime fast approaching, the change in the weather will allow Nassau County to resume vital projects that preserve our quality of life and keep our communities safe,” Minority Leader DeRiggi-Whitton said. “I will continue to advocate for the infrastructure resources for the communities of District 11, and I thank the residents of Port Washington for their understanding and patience as these crucial drainage improvements are completed.”
