(UNIONDALE, N.Y) – Nassau County Legislator Olena Nicks (D – Uniondale) proudly joined leaders in law enforcement and her colleagues in government in Uniondale at the David S. Mack Center for Training and Intelligence on Thursday, Aug. 14 to celebrate the graduation of the Nassau County Sheriff’s Department Recruit Class No. 115. Thirty newly minted Corrections Officers, including Jarred Bonneau, of Elmont; Michelle Brunie, of Franklin Square; Kevin Cuellar and Pearl Shaw, of Westbury, embarked upon their new careers after completing 10 weeks of intense training.
“Each day, the men and women of Nassau County Sheriff’s Department work diligently behind the scenes at the Nassau County Correctional Center, and their excellence and professionalism is instrumental in keeping Nassau County and its residents safe,” Legislator Nicks said. “Far too often, their efforts go unheralded, and it is my pleasure to congratulate Nassau’s newest corrections officers as they begin their careers in public service!”
