(HEMPSTEAD, N.Y.) – Nassau County Legislators Scott M. Davis (D – Rockville Centre) and Olena Nicks (D – Uniondale) proudly joined the Hempstead Branch of the NAACP for a Tuesday, Dec. 16 holiday celebration. Each December, the Hempstead NAACP sponsors local families for a holiday celebration filled with gifts, good cheer, and other festive seasonal favorites. Legislators Davis and Nicks were joined at the celebration by Town of Hempstead Deputy Supervisor Dorothy Goosby.
“Each holiday season, Bobbie Powell and the Hempstead NAACP do so much to brighten the season for deserving local families and children, and it is wonderful to see that this tradition is still going strong,” Legislator Davis said. “It was a joy to be a part of this event, and I hope it inspires each of us will follow their example and extend a hand in friendship to anyone who is confronted with challenges in their lives.”
“Through this heartwarming tradition, Bobbie Powell and the Hempstead NAACP beautifully embody the spirit of the holidays and the season of giving that is upon us,” Legislator Nicks said. “Thank you to all who make this tradition come alive year after year!”
