WHAT: Nassau County Legislator Olena Nicks (D – Uniondale) is joining forces with the Uniondale Fire Department, the Nassau County Police Department and an array of community stakeholders to host National Night Out at the Uniondale Fire Department’s Van Ness Fire Station on Tuesday, Aug. 4.
For more than four decades, National Night Out events have been held in thousands of communities each year on the first Tuesday in August to promote “police-community partnerships and camaraderie to make our neighborhoods safer, more caring places to live.” National Night Out enhances relationships between law enforcement and communities by bringing police and residents together in a fun and welcoming atmosphere.
“Across America, National Night Out events strengthen bonds and foster the partnerships between our communities and the first responders that keep us safe all throughout the year,” Legislator Nicks said. “As a Uniondale native, I am thrilled that we are bringing this celebration to the Van Ness Fire Station, and I thank my colleagues at the Uniondale Fire Department, the Nassau County Police Department and all of our sponsors for helping us host what promises to be a memorable evening!”
Anyone interested in becoming a sponsor or a vendor at Uniondale National Night Out can contact Legislator Nicks’ office at 516-571-6205 or bwalsh2@nassaucountyny.gov.
