(UNIONDALE, N.Y.) - Nassau County Legislator Olena Nicks (D – Uniondale) secured the unanimous passage of a $277,695 Community Revitalization Project (CRP) grant for the Uniondale Union Free School District on Monday, July 27. The funds will be applied toward upgrading the Uniondale High School auditorium with sound, projection, microphone and control systems, as well as projection screens, LED lighting, professional podium, large format TV display panels, and roll-top covers to protect AV equipment.
“Providing Uniondale’s students with access to cutting-edge audiovisual technology will provide them with outstanding hands-on educational opportunities that are essential in the digital age,” Legislator Nicks said. “Moreover, it will enhance Uniondale High School’s versatility as a venue that will benefit the entire community. I am proud to secure these funds for my alma mater, and I thank my colleagues for voting unanimously to make this important investment in our community.”
