(UNIONDALE, N.Y.) – Nassau County Legislators Olena Nicks (D – Uniondale) and Viviana L. Russell (D – Westbury) proudly joined graduates of the Long Island Children’s Museum’s “Together to Kindergarten” program. Through the four-week program, children whose parents and guardians were educated outside the United States build literacy skills, get acclimated to a classroom environment, and learn from hands-on activities throughout the Museum.

“For more than two decades, the Together to Kindergarten program has helped young learners from varied backgrounds get acclimated to the classroom environment so they are poised to thrive when they begin Kindergarten,” Legislator Nicks said. “It was truly a pleasure to celebrate this milestone with them and wish them a wonderful year of learning in kindergarten!”

“Congratulations to all of the Together to Kindergarten graduates! Early childhood is a critical time for building the social-emotional skills, confidence, and curiosity that prepare children for lifelong learning,” Legislator Russell said. “As you take this exciting step toward your first day of kindergarten, continue to learn, grow, dream big, and let your unique light shine. Thank you to the Long Island Children's Museum for hosting this wonderful program and creating a memorable experience for our young learners and their families. I wish you all a future filled with success, happiness, and endless possibilities.”
