(UNIONDALE, N.Y.) – Nassau County Legislator Viviana L. Russell (D – Westbury) joined her colleagues in government and fellow Legislators Olena Nicks (D – Uniondale) and Scott M. Davis (D – Rockville Centre) as panelists for the Uniondale Council of PTA’s annual Legislative forum on Friday, Feb. 6.
The event provided residents, educators, and community leaders an opportunity to directly engage with village, town, county and state officials about public education and the future of local schools, and an opportunity to discuss community priorities and strategies for progress.
“For generations, public education on Long Island has been a cornerstone of our region’s prosperity, a springboard for achievement, and a portal to countless opportunities,” Legislator Russell said. “As a proud representative of Uniondale in the Legislature and a steadfast supporter of public education in Nassau County, it was a privilege to be a part of this conversation. Thank you to the young people for their mature and deeply insightful questions - I applaud the organizers of this forum for their commitment to building a better future through dialogue and collaboration.”
