
(WEST HEMPSTEAD and FRANKLIN SQUARE, N.Y.) – Nassau County Legislator Olena Nicks (D – Uniondale) proudly joined the leaders and members of the West Hempstead Fire Department at the Sand Castle in Franklin Square on Saturday, Feb. 21 for the Department’s 101st annual installation dinner.
During the celebration, Legislator Nicks honored outgoing Chief of Department Michael Vogt and welcomed incoming Chief Andrew Brohm to the helm of the department. Among the guests were former West Hempstead FD Chief Peter Lilli, who serves currently as President of the Nassau County Corrections Officer Benevolent Association (COBA).
“As a 15-year member of the Uniondale Fire Department, I have worked closely with the men and women of the West Hempstead Fire Department on numerous occasions to protect the people of the communities we love,” Legislator Nicks said. “Thank you to Chief Michael Vogt for your leadership and commitment to service, and congratulations to incoming Chief Andrew Brohm for stepping into this vital role!”
