(UNIONDALE, N.Y.) – Nassau County Legislature Alternate Deputy Minority Leader Debra Mulé (D – Freeport) and Legislator Olena Nicks (D – Uniondale) joined PLUS Group Homes on Thursday, Sept. 11 to celebrate the grand opening of an enclosed inground pool at their Uniondale residence. The not-for-profit organization has committed itself for more than three decades to provide housing and essential services to adults with autism and other developmental disabilities within communities in Nassau County.
“As social workers, we know the importance of holistically meeting the needs of the people entrusted to our care, and the leaders of PLUS Group Homes have embraced that calling for more than a generation,” Alternate Deputy Minority Leader Mulé said. “Today’s unveiling is a wonderful example of their unwavering commitment to this cause, and I congratulate them on this important milestone for their residents.”
“Every day, PLUS Group Homes makes a tremendously positive impact in the lives of Nassau County residents who are living with developmental disabilities. The completion of this year-round pool at their Uniondale residence is the latest example of their commitment to making a difference,” Legislator Nicks said. “I was glad to share in this momentous occasion with them and commend them for all they do to enrich the lives of the families they serve.”
