(UNIONDALE, N.Y.) – Nassau County Legislator Olena Nicks (D – Uniondale) returned to her alma mater, Turtle Hook Middle School, for their annual Career Day on Friday, Dec. 12. During the event, she spoke directly with students about her role of a Legislator and the most challenging and rewarding aspects of being a public servant. “Returning to Turtle Hook was both a nostalgic and inspiring experience, and Career Day’s success each year is an important reminder of why it is crucial to support public education in every community throughout Nassau County,” Legislator Nicks said. “I hope the conversations I had with these eighth graders were informative and inspirational to them as they begin to explore potential career paths and pursue their future goals.”
